Her husband had died right before the holidays, leaving her with a stack of medical bills, two grieving little girls, and not one Christmas gift for either of them.
Honestly, if not for our program and friends like you, there would’ve been no Christmas for her family that year.
But there was. The girls thought it was Santa, but their mother was grateful to Toys for Tots supporters like you.
You just don’t know the kind of difference you make in the lives of families who desperately need you.
Even Roger Barnhart, a Marine Toys for Tots volunteer for over 20 years, was left speechless when, years later, this very same mom saw him with his Toys for Tots T-shirt on, broke into tears, and thanked him.
She was his neighbor, the mother of his daughter’s friend. And he never even knew. Roger explains:
“We didn’t know what her circumstances were — we never know what anyone’s circumstances are. [They] could be our neighbor or friend . . . all we know is that they are in a moment of need. And that’s all we NEED to know.”
A new doll or toy car may seem so small, but when you have absolutely nothing, even something small can make all the difference in the world.
